Worcester Emergency Management is looking for our team to assist with the Mass Remembers 9/11 event honoring those who lost their lives, sacrificed and responded to the tragedy of September 11, 2001.

The event will be on Sunday September 11 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Institute Park off Salisbury Street.

We will need about 12 WECT radio operators. The assignments will almost entirely be shadowing various event officials from not just the city but all of the various community leaders involved as well.

Our primary comms will be on the city's 800 MHz trunk radio system. Each volunteer will be issued a city radio for the afternoon. The event will have its own TAC talk group on the city system. We will also be asking all of our volunteers to bring along their own dual-band HTs as our back-up.

There is another event planning meeting coming up that WEMD will be attending, after which further details and refinements will be available.
